What AI Transformation Actually Requires

September 21, 2026 by Basil Puglisi Leave a Comment

Infographic contrasting Responsible AI automation under human observation with Checkpoint-Based Governance

AI products can be purchased. AI transformation has to be built.

This paper reframes fifteen commonly cited requirements for AI transformation as operational management requirements, from data provenance and purpose to decision traceability and value realization. It shows why automation and observation cannot serve as the sole control on consequential work, and how named human checkpoints close that gap.

New York Skipped the AI Disclosure Fight. It Went Straight to Human Accountability.

June 15, 2026 by Basil Puglisi Leave a Comment

Part 161 flow: the sanctions and privilege risk, the named-human signature checkpoint, and the defense and scale reward.

New York let its lawyers use AI in court and skipped the disclosure form everyone expected. That is not the relief it looks like. With nothing to disclose, the whole duty lands on the signature. Here is what Part 161 changes, the two cases that show the stakes, and why accountability outlasts disclosure.

The Inevitable Is a Choice: Testing Mo Gawdat’s FACE RIPS Forecast Across Two Interviews Against the Governance Architecture That Could Make It Optional

May 11, 2026 by Basil Puglisi 1 Comment

Architectural blueprint showing AI deployment cascade with named human checkpoint columns preventing dystopia phase

Mo Gawdat predicts 12 to 15 years of dystopia before AI becomes benevolent enough to save humanity. He says the transit corridor is inevitable. This paper tests every Gawdat claim against the published governance architecture that could prevent it. The dystopia is contingent, not foreordained, because the infrastructure to stop it already exists. The decade ahead will be shaped by which prediction the public frame adopts.

From AI Policy to Financial System Design What US Dept of Treasury’s AI Innovation Series Actually Signals

Layered illustration showing policy documents, shared frameworks, and a convening table representing Treasury's AI sequence

Treasury’s March 2026 AI Innovation Series is not a standalone announcement. It is the operational phase of a two-year sequence that now treats AI adoption as a financial stability issue, a competitiveness issue, and a regulatory design issue at the same time. Failure to Adopt Is Now a Risk Category Treasury’s March 20, 2026, announcement […]

MIT built the engine. The question now is who drives. This analysis is written for people designing, deploying, or governing reasoning systems, not just studying them. It is a long-form technical examination intended as a foundational reference for the governance of inference-scaling architectures. In one of the MIT paper’s documented execution traces (see Appendix B […]

Scaling AI in Moderation: From Promise to Accountability

September 19, 2025 by Basil Puglisi Leave a Comment

AI moderation, trust and safety, hybrid AI human moderation, regulatory compliance, content moderation strategy, Basil Puglisi, Factics methodology

TL;DR AI moderation works best as a hybrid system that uses machines for speed and humans for judgment. Automated filters handle clear cut cases and lighten moderator workload, while human review catches context, nuance, and bias. The goal is not to replace people but to build accountable, measurable programs that reduce decision time, improve trust, […]
