Pregnancy

Changes You Will Notice After Giving Birth

You just cannot stop but feel amazed at the change of your body over the past nine months! That’s because your body is going through some serious changes right now, especially with hormonal changes. Your body is home to a small wonder, about to enter your world. So, you are feeling nothing short than blessed. You have been quite strong during pregnancy and did not feel such pain or discomfort. But there are some post-pregnancy issues, which you have to work on for sure.

Checking on some infections:

Even though it is quite unfortunate, but post-pregnancy tends toward some infections. These infections are likely to take place around bladder, uterine or kidney infections. If you are unlucky enough to face any of these problems, then book for a doctor’s appointment and start treatment in this segment. It is an optional issue, which some new moms might face.

Changes in breast:

After giving birth, you will start feeling milk formation in your breast. That will make your breasts more soggy and heavy. You will start feeling sore, swollen, flushed and engorged with breast milk, just after a day or two of giving birth. That’s the food for your child and the ultimate nutrition. The swollen sign will stay for three to four days and after that, your breasts will began to sag. This is mainly due to the stretched skin.

Bleeding after delivery:

You cannot deny the fact that those nine months of pregnancy were the time when you forget what sanitary napkin is. That blood was clotted and gave rise to a new life form. But, once the baby is out from you, it’s time to bleed. That bleeding can be excessive. For some unfortunate women, this bleeding might last for months, which can make you weak and anemic. So, during such instances, it is mandatory to keep iron tablets at hand, as your body needs strength.

Changes in stomach:

Stretch marks are the common changes of post-pregnancy. Just after giving birth, you can feel the uterus to be round and hard and can be felt by touching the navel. Within a matter of six weeks, it will weigh something around 2 ounces and cannot be felt by pressing abdomen. Even the brown line at the center of lower abdomen will disappear. But, you can’t always say that for stretch marks and may have to live with them for some time.

Keeping Father Involved In The Entire Period Of Pregnancy

June 22, 2017 by Basil Puglisi Leave a Comment

Defined as an important part of prenatal bonding, you should try to involve dad in the entire pregnancy procedure. He is a major reason behind the amazing feeling of parenthood. Involving him in the entire procedure will not just strengthen the bond between dad and child, but can let him appreciate the importance of mom. It is not just good for the baby, but great for the daddies out there. These simple and easy steps will not just help your guy to be involved in the procedure, but will make him feel special.

  • Start sharing your celebrations:

There are no particular rules on how you can let daddy participate in your baby shower, but you have the liberty to innovate ways and styles of your own. Ask him to help you with the decorations and give him freedom to use his imagination. The baby shower may be a public celebration before your little one enters the earth, but it can also be a great way to help your man be a part of this wonderful journey.

  • Take him to classes:

There are special prenatal sessions available for expecting mom, with the goal being to help her feel relaxed and rejuvenate energy as and when needed. Take your guy with you. There are special couple sessions, where the husband needs to hold his wife’s belly and participate in the massaging session. This is a great way to help daddy bond well with mom and the unborn child.

  • Let him feel the kick:

Baby kicking from the womb is a surprisingly nice feeling. It’s a sign that your baby is healthy, alive and responding to your thoughts and feelings. This is a joyous moment for the woman, and for the man as well. So, the next time your baby feels like becoming a footballer, try to call your husband and let him feel it too. That is going to be a wonderful experience to cherish and share.

  • Inside the operation theater:

Most of the time doctors rely on normal delivery, followed by quick recovery procedure. This is the high time when your husband needs to be by your side, to support and care for you, when the actual time arrives. Doctors and nursing staffs are helpful and can help husband to cut the umbilical cord to separate mother from child.

Following these suggestions will help your husband to be a part of this wonderful pregnancy journey. He will fall deeply in love with you and the child even more.

5 Must-Have Products For Pregnant Women To Carry

June 19, 2017 by Basil Puglisi Leave a Comment

Being pregnant is the most wonderful feeling you can possibly imagine. You are about to give birth to someone who will call you mom. Doesn’t that sound like the greatest feeling of all time? However, this happy moment is not a smooth flow, but comes with lots of hurdles. You are going to feel sick more often and even feel like vomiting any second. Your feet start to swell and cramping seems to be a long lasting partner. Just to avoid these and any other issues, there are five important things, which every pregnant woman should carry.

  1. Water bottle and snack:

You never know when you might feel hungry or thirsty, and staying hungry for long is not at all good during pregnancy. You not only start feeling weak, but such long gaps between food can affect your unborn child, as well. So, always carry extra snacks, like biscuits and rye cakes, and a bottle of water is a must, no matter wherever you travel.

  1. Hand sanitizer:

You are given the responsibility to take absolute care of a little life inside you. Safety is the first and foremost point you need to focus on. When it comes to safety, hand sanitizer is a necessity. Before you touch anything outside your realm of comfort, you should sanitize your hands immediately. This is mandatory when you are about to eat.

  1. Scents and deodorants:

Mood swing is a dangerous aspect of pregnancy. Your senses become hyperactive; particularly sense of smell. Try carrying a preferred scent or deodorant. Odors can trigger your nausea tendency, causing you to vomit. Prepare yourself for that.

  1. Floss to prevent bleeding:

One major sign of pregnancy is bleeding gums.  The more you bleed the fouler your breath smells. Always try to carry chewing gum and floss daily to keep your mouth fresh and healthy.

  1. Pantyliners:

Being pregnant might rescue you from the shackle of your period for some time, but that does not relieve you of carrying sanitary napkins. Some women might feel too much of vaginal discharge, which is a common issue. So, be sure to add pantiliners in your pack.

These five major products are must to be included in your bag, especially when you are going through body and hormonal changes .

Ways To Try Stimulating Your Baby In Womb

June 12, 2017 by Basil Puglisi Leave a Comment

Living and following a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy might help your baby to grow well, but is that it? Does it help in fulfilling your requirements well? It might during initial stages, but what about if you want to stimulate your baby. Some simple and easy proven methods will help you to teach your unborn child. For that, you might want to add some nutritional supplements in your diet plan or just follow the story-telling method. You might not know but unborn children are quite smart and have the power to grasp knowledge easily and fast.

  • Working on teaching behavior:

You can always stimulate active baby by encouraging it to play. For that, you need to try hard and accustom infant to respond to its mom. Once the baby reaches the stage to kick inside the womb, it is time for the mother to touch belly and say something a bit encouraging. You might have to repeat it to let the baby understand your feel.

  • Opt for the musical move:

Want to take extreme care of your little child after birth? If so, then you should try for it at early stages, while it is inside your womb. Take your headphones, push it down towards your belly, and play any soothing music. It will soothe the baby well. After giving birth, your baby can respond immediately to the music, which it heard while in mommy’s womb.

  • Hear made up words:

Another interesting fact, which can work in your way to stimulate unborn child is by repeating made up words. Recent studies have indicated that unborn babies can hear made up words in the final two months. They can hear the made up words, if you repeat those continuously.

  • Help you with better bonding:

Remember that it might feel a bit silly at first, but talking to your baby can help in better bonding. You will feel your little one responding to your voice, every time you speak. So, when you are enjoying your alone time, why not share it with the little infant, inside your womb? Tell her stories, sing a song or even feel your belly.  Your little ones are sensitive enough to grasp anything he or share hears or feels.

Stimulating your baby might not always work, and there are reasons for that. However, it can easily deepen the bond between mother and child. So, trying to stimulate child through stories or music can turn out to be a great idea.

Running Safely While Pregnant For A Smooth Body Function

June 11, 2017 by Basil Puglisi Leave a Comment

Just because you are pregnant, that does not mean you have to sit idle all day long. Definitely, you need some rest, but that doesn’t mean you won’t exercise at all. Healthy running during the first trimester is amazing for your body, and will help it to adapt to the hormonal changes taking place. Moreover, running at moderate speed after consulting doctor can help in addressing proper blood flow circulation and keep swollen feet and other necessary problems at bay.

Keep baby fat away:

Running can help in keeping your baby fat away. Remember that you are eating for not one, but two people at the same time. So, after giving birth, there are high chances that extra food will turn into fatty molecules and add in some unwanted spots. Avoid falling into that shackle of unhealthy physique by maintaining moderate running, just as your body permits. Never overdo yourself, as that might cause some serious problems later.

Ways to run safely:

Running during normal times is something else, and running during pregnancy is a completely different ball game. Your body does not have the same old stamina, and you might lose your energy more often. Following some steps might help you to run safety when you are carrying a baby within.

  • You have to a bit easier as you are pregnant. Do not forget to warm yourself up and cool down properly, when needed. If that takes a bit more time, then dedicate that without fail.
  • As already mentioned, avoid pushing yourself too hard. You should be running in such a pace, which will help you to carry conversation smoothly while performing this task.
  • Do not fail to wear comfortable shoes. Uncomfortable shoes will not just prevent you from running smoothly, but can give rise to some dreadful accidents unwantedly. So, provide plenty of space and support to your feet, as safety is your first hand priority during such times.
  • Before, during and after running, ensure to add more water in your diet plan. This will prevent you from getting dehydrated, whose chances are high when you are pregnant. Always carry a bottle of water, from where you can take a sip while on move.

Simple yet effective measures:

It just takes few simple steps to follow and enjoy proper running during pregnancy. However, if you are facing any complication and your doctor is dead against this exercise, then it’s better to skip it completely.
